Which term is best for a maternity photoshoot?
The best time for a maternity photoshoot is usually between 27-32 weeks.
During this period, your belly is quite visible, and you still feel comfortable enough to create wonderful shots. However, this largely depends on individual preferences, physiology, and the expectant mother’s desires. Some opt for earlier sessions, closer to the 6th month, when the belly is just starting to show, while others prefer closer to the due date when it’s more prominent. It’s important to choose a time that is comfortable for you and aligns with how you want to look in the photos.
How does the newborn photoshoot work and what should we prepare?
When is the best time to do a newborn photoshoot?
There are two beautiful stages for a newborn photoshoot. One is in the first 10–14 days after birth, when your baby is still very sleepy and settles easily.
Another lovely time is around 6–8 weeks, when your baby is a bit bigger, more alert, starting to hold their head and show little expressions. Both options are wonderful it just depends on the kind of memories you’d love to capture.
Where does the photoshoot take place and what should we prepare?
The photoshoot takes place in your home, in a calm and familiar environment for your baby. I recommend choosing light, neutral outfits without collars or busy patterns for both parents and baby this keeps the photos timeless and natural.
If you’d like more variety and detail, during the 1–1.5 hour session we can create two simple looks and change your baby’s outfit once. I’ll guide you through everything and help choose the best spots in your home for natural light.
Can we include parents and siblings in the newborn photoshoot?
Yes, absolutely. Parents and siblings are very welcome to be part of the newborn photoshoot. We can create a mix of family portraits, sibling moments and baby-only photos, all in a natural and relaxed way.
How many photos will we receive and when?
You will receive all the best images (usually 100+ photos) in light, natural retouching that keeps skin looking real and soft not over-edited. Your gallery will be ready the next day after the shoot, and you’ll be able to download all the photos and choose your favourites to print if you wish.
Can I bring my dog to the photoshoot?
Yes, you can bring your dog, but it’s essential to inform beforehand. Also, dog owners are responsible for any potential damages in the studio.
If I want a confidential photoshoot?
Your privacy is very important to me. Before the photoshoot, you can let me know if you’d prefer your images to stay private.
If no privacy request is made before the session, it means you’re happy for me to use some of the photos for my portfolio, website or social media.
How will I receive the photos after the photoshoot?
You will receive the photos in a convenient online photo album, where you can 'like' photos for editing, save them to your phone or computer, and also share them with friends and family. The photos are stored on the server for 30 days.
